Kiril Džajkovski
Kiril Live with special guests Gaea (NY) & Sercuk Orchestra
Kiril Dzajkovski is an internationally acclaimed Macedonian electronic artist and music composer, best known for his solo releases combining Macedonian ethnic music and electronica. He was the founding member of the electronic band Bastion, as well as one time member of the legendary Macedonian band Leb I Sol.
In the nineties, Kiril moved to Australia and began experimenting by combining Macedonian ethnic musical influences and electronic beats. This led to his first solo release, 'Synthetic Theatre', an EP received extremely well by Australian independent radio stations.
In 2000, American label Tone Casualties released his album 'Homebound', which continued the concept of blending Macedonian ethnic instrumentation and electronica. It received excellent reviews around the world, including USA, Canada, UK, Spain and Japan. Croatian Playboy Magazine voted it the best album of the year from Ex Yugoslavia. The single from the album, 'Primitive Science', included remixes by well known London producers and DJs: Bushwacka, Subsonic Legacy and Dreadzone.
Kiril has contributed tracks to various compilations released worldwide by labels such as Putumayo, 10 KILO, Pschent Music, Eastblok, MK2 and Distinctive Records.
In addition to his solo albums, Kiril writes music for film, television and theatre.
He wrote, arranged and produced the soundtrack music for the feature films 'Dust' directed by Milcho Manchevski, 'The Great Water' directed by Ivo Trajkov (Best Soundtrack Award Valencia Film Festival 2005) and Balcancan directed by Darko Mitrevski and additional music for ‘Shadows' directed by Milcho Manchevski.
Kiril has written music for numerous theatre productions, including ‘Proud Flesh' directed by Aleksandar Popovski (Best Music Award, Voydan Chernodrinski Theatre Festival 2001), as well as the award winning contemporary ballet ‘La Capinera', directed by Michele Merola (Special Music Award, Purgatorije Mediterranean Theatre Festival 2007).
This summer with selected live performances Kiril presents new material from his up coming album.
